We startled this capybara as we rounded a corner. Survival instincts kicked in, and for a capybara that apparently means panic eating.
Prior to running into this formidable unit - in awe of the size of him - we had been speaking about African wildlife, specifically the unpredictability of African Buffalo. We didn’t get too close.
The only toucan we saw, and one of my favourite birds.
A jabiru stork gathering materials to build its nest.
Like bedroom eyes, except looking down the food chain.
(proul) v. - (of a person or animal) move about restlessly and stealthily, especially in search of prey.
I edited these images for 6 hours straight and I’m feeling a bit silly.
I’m sorry.
This kingfisher really made a meal of this little guy. Before eating he made a great show of smashing the little dude repeatedly on his branch. Vicious little bastard.
I feel bad for the cormorant in this shot, unfortunately it seems his eyes were bigger than his stomach. He couldn’t swallow, but due to the fishes’ spines couldn’t drop it either, so he just awkwardly paddled about until we left.
